Punjab, Pakistan: Hospitals on High Alert and Schools Shut Down Amid Crisis

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan, has instructed all hospitals in the province to stay on high alert and announced that educational institutions will be closed on Wednesday.

According to statements from the Pakistani military, six out of eight fatalities from the recent attacks occurred in Ahmadpur East and Muridke, both located in Punjab. However, CNN has not independently confirmed this information.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif shared via X (formerly Twitter) that she had issued emergency directives for the province. She emphasized the need for rescue services, district authorities, and hospitals to remain vigilant after the attack news.

Sharif also confirmed the closure of all educational institutions across Punjab for Wednesday. In her statement, she reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peace but warned that the country would become a united force if pushed into conflict.

“India may have initiated the aggression, but we will be the ones to end it,” she stated, expressing strong national support for the Pakistani armed forces.
