Aslam charms the Valley
KATHMANDU: The crowd was already delirious. The collective voice calling his name sounded like a song! Cheers and shouts rang out, and the tension rose from minute to minute. And finally, the wait was over: it was in sight! The voice behind these moving songs was on stage in style. Pakistani singer Atif Aslam was on stage! Hungami Halaat resonated in the hall and kicked off the November 30th musical evening at Dashrath Stadium. His exceptional voice captivated the crowd until the next hour and a half of Atif Aslam Live in Nepal. In style, he impressed and captivated the audience. Songs like Doorie, Ehsaas and Mahi Ve followed. “For the pretty ladies of the house,” sang Aslam, Tera Hone Laga Hoon. And for his Nepali fans, it was Pehli Nazar Mein who said, “I wanted to come to Nepal a long time ago. Today I am very happy. Thank you for taking the time to give me time.” The singer and his group of five musicians were coming straight from a concert in Dubai. Nevertheless, they have enchanted Nepal. Pehli Nazar Mein, pure piano music, while Hona Tha Pyaar, another soothing performance, was performed. With Woh Lamhe, Aslam expressed the greatness of the audience and said, “I really love you.” Coming straight from Pakistan, he offered Hum Kis Galli Jaa Rahey Hain in Nepal. In addition, for his first concert in Nepal, melodious and dancing numbers were performed. Meri Kahani, O Mere Khuda, Teri Liye, Aadat and Tu Jaane Na, among others, resonated in the room. Meanwhile, Aslam also interacted with the audience. He asked the audience, “If someone could show me around the country and invite me for coffee?” The audience that accompanied him while singing was under the spell of the beautiful singer, especially the female fans. In addition to his songs, he posed for the crowd and even made a flying kiss that touched the hearts of many fans. Among the lucky ones was Jasmine Tamang, an Aslam fan, who volunteered at the concert. He was given the number of Aslam, which belongs to India. “I am speechless! He's so beautiful! My wish to meet him came true. I’m so happy,” she said, tears in her eyes. The concert was a success for the audience, and even for Aslam pianist Jonathan Paul. He said, “The audience was amazing.
