Everything Everywhere All at Once (10/27)

Maybe no film this 12 months lived up to its name quite like Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once. If the directing pair had spent every minute of the final six years given that making Swiss Army Man filming this actual multiverse of madness and setting collectively this truth-hopping international, it might make perfect feel. It’s rare that a movie crams as a great deal into it as this one does, but with out feeling overstuffed or ridiculous for the sake of being audacious. There’s a technique to the madness right here, led by way of an notable ensemble complete with some of the high-quality performances of the 12 months (Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan, especially) and some in reality ambitious and ballsy filmmaking. Of all the many realities inside this movie, it’s super that we live in a reality in which a movie like this may exist.
