Bones and All (13/27)

Bones and All is as if Luca Guadagnino took the tragic love story of Call Me By Your Name, combined it with the disturbing tone of 2018’s Suspiria, and sent that unholy introduction on a street journey. Guadagnino makes this cannibal trek a journey of self-discovery, the connections we desperately crave, and the sad reality that it could be impossible to ever in reality recognise a person, even if there is a huge quantity of affection between  people. As the younger cannibal Maren (Taylor Russell) traverses the USA with Lee (Timothée Chalamet), she craves a normalcy that she’ll never be capable of obtain, and life has put her down a course where she has to adapt or perish. This heartbreaking fact is fundamental to Bones and All, the concept that regardless of how tough we attempt, we will possibly in no way have the knowledge that we want in a world this is cruel and unforgiving.
