Fisher, who’d usually been extraordinarily open about both her drug dependancy and bipolar diagnosis, at a time while neither have been discussed publicly, became perhaps nice summed up in a statement from her daughter, Billie Lourd, following her death: “She was purposefully open in all of her work about the social stigmas surrounding these diseases. She talked about the shame that torments humans and their households confronted by using these diseases. I understand my mom, she’d want her death to encourage humans to be open about their struggles. Seek assist, combat for government investment for intellectual health packages. Shame and people social stigmas are the enemies of progress to solutions and in the long run a remedy.”
